CAA/FAA Medical Reports

The CAA and FAA will often require supporting evidence regarding your medical status in the form of reports from your treating specialists or your GP. Please ensure all submitted documents comply with the CAA specifications below in order to ensure your case is assessed as efficiently as possible.

Reports should be sent to your AME for collation only when all required reports have been received.

All emailed documents must be of acceptable quality ie legible.

Any foreign language reports must be accompanied by a certified translation in order to verify the accuracy of the translation. “Google Translate” or other non-certified translations are not acceptable.

Document Formatting

  • Reports must be sent as PDF documents
  • Other formats such as jpeg or png are not accepted by the Cellma system and will be returned
  • If you do not have a scanner, PDFs can be generated on a phone via a suitable scanning app (eg Tiny Scanner, CamScanner, iScanner) or using online resources (eg Adobe)
  • Each individual report or document must be sent as an individual PDF
  • Multi-page documents must be sent as a single PDF document and not split into separate pages

Document labelling

  • Please ensure you include your CAA reference number in the document title and email subject heading
  • Each document must include your name and at least one other identifier for each report (eg CAA reference number/date of birth)

Reports submitted in a format unacceptable to the CAA will be rejected. Unfortunately the subsequent updated reports will usually be placed at the back of the CAA’s processing queue, potentially causing significant delays in reviewing your case.
